Seize every opportunity
I’ve been thinking a lot lately about my life right now. It seems like kind of a whirlwind and not at all at the same time.
Moving home after being gone for 4 years and thinking I would never move back. While I was in Africa trying to figure out what to do when I got back to the States, God told me that I needed to go home. He didn’t say for how long. That’s kind of how He talks to me. He tells me as little details as He has to LOL
It was kind of shock. It’s a much slower pace from the Revival Ministries and missions whirlwinds that I love.
It’s been a little rough taking care of a mother dealing with cancer and trying to encourage a nephew who seems to be going through midlife crisis at 20.
In the midst of things like that it can be very easy to lose sight of the now. I think about Africa and pretty much 12 countries every day. I think of, read about, and look at pictures of nations every single day. I’m not sure if longing is the word.
The problem was that I was so clouded by my wanting to be somewhere else that I had forgotten that God TOLD me to come here. I was missing opportunities to see God work right here in Lexington, KY, who needs Jesus just as much as remote villages and people. I was also missing opportunities for the Holy Spirit to work on me. AKA, getting over myself.
Don’t miss the now opportunities because you can see the far off ones. Besides, God’s probably not gonna let you leave until you get what He’s trying to teach you where you are. Ya know
Serve the Lord with all your heart not matter where He’s placed you.
“To all who are victorious, who obey me to the very end, to them I will give authority over all the nations” Revelation 2:26
